Legacy Home Inspections

LEGACY HOME INSPECTIONS · NORTH CAROLINA

New Construction Final Inspections

Before your new-home orientation, get an independent view of the accessible structure and major systems. Legacy’s final inspection gives you documented findings to discuss with your builder.

Schedule an Inspection

Arrange the visit before orientation

Our scheduler lists this service for new-home buyers before the orientation appointment. Confirm the builder’s access requirements, expected completion date, and utility readiness. Allow time to review the report and address questions before closing. If work is still underway, contact us to decide whether the appointment should move.

Inspect the completed home

The inspection evaluates accessible components within the agreed scope. These include the structure, exterior, roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, and interior systems as applicable. Incomplete work, unavailable utilities, and unsafe or blocked access can limit evaluation and will be noted.

Bring clear findings to the builder

Use the report’s photos and explanations to organize concerns by location and component. Ask the builder how findings will be addressed and keep their responses with your records. Your inspection is separate from a municipal approval or the builder’s own walkthrough; it does not guarantee that every defect will be found.

Keep the construction stages connected

If you had a pre-drywall inspection, retain that report and related responses. After moving in, document issues you observe and review your warranty dates. An 11-month inspection is another opportunity to document conditions before an applicable builder deadline.

Common questions

What service should I book?

Choose “New Construction - Preclosing/Final Inspection” in the scheduler. Share the orientation and closing dates when arranging access.

Does a new home still need an inspection?

An independent inspection provides a separate assessment of accessible conditions, even when the home is new. It complements the builder’s processes and applicable municipal inspections.

Can you check repairs later?

The scheduler offers a residential re-inspection of one or more systems noted in a previous Legacy inspection. Contact us to confirm the items, access, timing, and fee.
